  • For full time employment with Family Friendly Group, you will require the following: -

    • A manual Queensland driving license.

    • A pest license issued by Queensland health.

    • An excellent can-do attitude.

    • Excellent communication skills.

    • Carpet/upholstery cleaning & other services that you will become trained and qualified to undertake. (No experience necessary)

    • Pest control

    • Termite inspections (if licensed).

    • Excellent customer service & communication.

    • Use and general maintenance of machinery and vehicles.

    • Recommending value-ad services to customers.

    • Able to complete relevant digital records, i.e., job sheets, invoicing, time sheets.

    • Following policies and procedures.

  • How much will I be paid per hour?

    • Pay rate is negotiable based on experience and relevant licenses held between $30 - $40 per hour, plus;

    • Weekly incentive bonus structures.

    • Monthly meetings with breakfast/lunch on us

    • Vehicle with fuel allowance

    • Reasonable flexibility

    When do I get paid, and what's the pay frequency?

    • Pay is paid weekly, 1 week in arrears on a Friday.

    • Superannuation is paid quarterly.

    Days & Hours

    • Full time employment hours average on 38 hours per week. We monitor hours worked on a monthly basis, some weeks you may work 28 hours and some weeks you may work 42 hours. If your average over a month is more than 38 hours per week, we will pay overtime.

    • Days are Monday to Friday and on-call once a month on a Saturday for emergency work i.e., water extraction. If you are called out on your on-call day you will be paid accordingly.

    • Hours of work on average can be between 8am - 5pm. On the odd occasion you may be required to work earlier or later.

  • How is tax deducted from my pay, and what forms do I need to fill out?

    • This will be calculated via our chosen accounting software; we will require your tax file number and details which are provided to us via the employee detail form.

    What is superannuation, and how does it work for casual employees?

    • Superannuation is paid at the statutory rate on top of your hourly rate.

    • This is usually paid quarterly to your provided superannuation fund.

    • If no superannuation fund is supplied, a state fund will be created in your name.

  • How do I know when and where I'm scheduled to work?

    • Family Friendly has a full job management software program. Upon acceptance of a position, you will be granted a username and password and that becomes your platform. all training will be provided.

    Can I request specific days off or changes to my schedule?

    • Every employee has annual leave, which builds with your employment. If you require time off, we ask that it’s submitted in writing.

    • Busy times of the year i.e., October through to February will not be granted, except in special circumstances.

    • If you are unable to work on a specific day, or need to make a change then you will just need to let us know as soon as possible.

    What's the notice period for not coming into work?

    • There is no “set” notice period, just respect to your fellow work colleagues. Each day is assigned to a set number of team members, if 1 person does not show it adds pressure to the rest of the team.

  • Will I receive any training for my role?

    • Yes, you will receive all relevant training for your role.

    Are there opportunities for advancement within the company?

    • Yes, for the right person.

  • Do I need to provide my own uniform or equipment?

    • Family friendly work shirts will be provided.

    • You will be required to provide and wear navy blue shorts/long pants.

    • You will be required to provide your own trainers to wear (or comfortable equivalent).

    • If you are doing pest management, you will be required to provide your own mask.

    • All other required PPE will be provided onsite as and when required.

    Is there a dress code or specific safety requirements?

    • Family friendly work shirt

    • Navy blue shorts or long pants

    • Trainers (or equivalent comfortable shoes)

  • What are the workplace policies, and where can I find them?

    • Family friendly has a policies and procedures manual, that will be provided to you, via email. (a copy can also be found on this website, and you will also be provided the link)

      How do I report workplace issues or concerns?

    • We ask that any concerns or issues be put in writing and emailed to hello@familyfriendlygroup.com.au.

      (we feel this is the clearest most direct method, however if there is a more urgent/sensitive situation please speak directly to your supervisor)

    • In addition, there is a clear policy in the policies and procedures manual for further information.

    What are the expectations regarding punctuality and conduct?

    • Punctuality is extremely important, and we have a 100% expectation that our team turn up on time (the old expression, if you are on time your late so try and get there 5-10 minutes early).

    • If you have a circumstance where you will be late, you must contact your supervisor as soon as possible.

    Please understand, we work as a team, even when we are working independently. If you are late and we are unaware, there is a possibility you will be told to stay home without pay.

  • For ongoing casual employment with Family Friendly Group, you do need to have a manual Queensland driving license.

    • Pre vacuuming carpeted areas, ensuring the carpeted area is free from any larger items i.e., paper, rubbish, pencils etc.

    • Carpet and/or Upholstery cleaning using portable and/or truck mounted equipment (you will be fully trained onsite on how to operate these equipment).

    • Pest Management spraying (If you have a Queensland health - pest management license or are heavily supervised).

  • How much will I be paid per hour?

    • Pay rate is negotiable based on experience and relevant licenses held between $30 - $40 per hour, plus;

  • Family friendly employs people of all ages!

    Our youngest aged team member has been 15 and our eldest 72 (and all ages in between).

  • Across the Queensland school holidays, Family Friendly Group carry out services across multiple school building facilities.

    We look for people for 2 position types.

    1. Onsite supervisor

    2. Onsite technician

    Onsite Supervisor role will consist of (but not limited to).

    • Arriving onsite first and being the last person to leave.

    • Ensuring there is enough products, and all equipment is onsite and working.

    • Ensuring there is a plan of the area and delegating technicians to assigned areas.

    • Ensuring technicians have relevant breaks.

    • Ensuring doors are opened and then closed and locked.

    • Ensuring all areas have been carried out to a high standard.

    • Ensuring that lights, aircon and fans are turned off.

    Onsite technician role;

    Your role could be one or a mix of duties consisting of.

    • Casual employees do not get paid leave or benefits.

    What are my rights in terms of public holidays?

    • Public holidays incur penalty rates, however no public holidays work will be required.

  • Will I receive any training for my role?

    • Yes, you will receive all relevant training for your role.
